Android Tablets Vs iPad
The war of tablets have just begun few years ago and there is a lot more to happen as more and more new companies are entering the scenario where each company will try to overtake the other with some brilliant features and options in their version of tablets. However, at the moment there are two giant companies trying to beat the competition and they are Google versus Apple. Google has come up with Android OS while Apple has iOS. Today, in the war of tablets there is a tight competition between Android tablets and iPad. Let’s take a closer look at some of the differences between the two tablets.
Operating System
The operating system plays very important role because a lot of things inside the tablet depends on the operating system. Most of the Android tablets have Android OS from Google, while iPad has the very popular Apple iOS. Although, both the OS have good features many developers feel that Android will definitely capture the market in the future because the Android market is open source and there are better apps available for Android users. On the other hand, iOS is already the top operating system in the world at the moment but many developers feel that the OS is too restrictive and does not allow much freedom to the developers as well as the users. This is why some of the popular apps like Angry Birds are free on Android Market but the same app is a paid app on iOS.
Screen Size
iPad tablet is usually 10 inch tablet and therefore it has a good screen size. However, iPad comes in one fix size. While on the other hand, there are many Android tablets in the market that are 7 inch, 8 inch, 9 inch and even 10 inches in size. This gives more freedom to the buyers to decide the screen size they want. While some buyers are happy with 10 inch tablets, some would like to go for smaller screen size so that they can carry the Android tablet easily.
Apps
There is no doubt that Apple App Store has a huge stock of apps that iPad users can make use of. However, Android market is definitely going to beat the App Store in just about time. Since Android is an open source there are various developers that are making apps for the Android market rather than for App Store.
Cost
This could also be one of the reasons why Android tablets would gain more popularity than iPad in various countries where buyers are more cost specific. Android tablets are available at cheaper price and therefore many buyers would go for cheap Android tablets rather than buying expensive Apple iPad.
I will go for a new iPad2. I’m sorry but I’m just an Apply fan.

for christmas i really wanted an ipad2 and i was pretty sure my grandma was gettin me 1 and she thought she was 2 when she went 2 new zealand on a holliday she bought what she thought was an ipad2 ( she decieded to by on her holiday because the australian dollar was up ) but she had really bought an android tablet and i was crushed because i love the apple ipad2′s sleek design…oh and the beuatiful white outline makes it look so much cleaner and fresh and would match what i was planning on doing for covering my school books next year ( which is in only 10 days ) but no im stuck with an android motarola tablet ( black
) for a year ( which they payed 700 dollars for ( way more than an ipad 2 would cost )…. did i mention that they took it out of its seel before they told my mum that they bought it so now i cant even take it back…damn…. oh well , what im really saying through this story ( all true, it really happend ) is that everyone has different styles and prefer different versions but one main thing you have GOT TO REMEMBER IS ……. DONT TRUST OLD PEOPLE TO BUY ANY THING TO DO WITH TECHNOLOGY.
